The first four pages are from
Sgt Wright's Individual Deceased Personnel File ( IDPF )
and the quality is marginal.
The complete Missing Air Crew Report ( MACR )
is within
Lt Warde's
place at the POW Honor Roll.
In there are several pages of a document titled
SR&D ( Status Review and Determination )
that have information that are not in the IDPFs
of 1st Lt Warde, SSgt Wells, or Sgt Wright.
The MACR was required to be filed within 48 hours
following a B-29's failure to return to the base.
The orginal version would have the Status in
the far right column handwritten.
This updated version is typewritten,
most likely from around the time the
Finding of Death documents were issued.
EUS : Evacuated to the Continental United States
KIA : Killed in Action
DED : Declared Dead
The status of each crew member whose status is
DED would later be changed to KIA.
Followed by statements by Aircraft Commanders of other
500th Bomb Group B-29s.
These have details concerning how
Major Goldsworthy's B-29 was attacked and lost.
At the bottom of the page is a list of each
crew member and his Next of Kin.
This enabled family members to make contact with each other.
