There is minimal information about Sgt Richmond either online or
in his IDPF. In 1920 his parents were living in Glen Easton, West Virginia, a rural area about three miles west of Cameron. Between 1930 and 1950, the population of Marshall County fluctuated
between 37,000 and 40,000. He attended Cameron High School, Cameron, West Virginia, graduating 28 April 1939 . His registration card is dated July 1941 and his occupation is listed
as farm laborer.
The below map is the Panhandle section of West Virginia with an arrow
pointing to Cameron. Gary Rider has written a series of books about Veterans in Marshall County, West Virginia. He has kindly granted permission for me to use this page about Alberta
and Raymond Richmond. Sgt Richmond's Registration Card is followed by his Marriage License
and Certificate dated 8 January 1943. |
