Introduction
Page 2

Lt Franz's Individual Deceased Personnel File ( IDPF ) lists only two of his stations.
Other documents have helped to create a time line:

He registered for the draft 30 June 1942

The Pittsburg Post Gazette dated 19 October 1942 lists his name
among 50 US Army Air Force enlistees.
( third document below )

His residence at the time was in Wilkinsburg, PA,
close to where he was working at Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburg

A second enlistement date is in his records from the National Archives.
This took place on 15 March 1943 at Boca Raton Army Air Field, Florida.

In October 1943 he was called to active duty.

One page in his IDPF
places him at New Haven, Connecticut,
and Seattle, Washington, during this month.

Based on his dental records, Lt Franz was at Lowry AAF, Colorado, in January 1944,
most likely in the Flight Engineer School.

During September and November 1944 he was at Herington AAF, Kansas.
