Table I details the number of Aircraft Participating,

Table IX summarizes Aircraft Lost and Damaged,

and Table X concerns Casualties.

134 B-29's from the 73rd Bomb Wing were scheduled to fly this mission and
130 were Airborne.

One B-29 from the 497th Bomb Group and one from the 498th Bomb Group were lost.

In reading through these documents, one must keep in mind that these reports
were created within a short period of time following mission completion .

As more information became available,
corrections were made in documents outside these reports.

At the bottom of Table IX,
the statement that A-56 crashed on Shikoku is not correct.

These coordinates are outlined in red at the bottom of the fourth document.

At a later time this was corrected to a location south and east of Osaka.

Within the next two documents, Enemy Fighter Reaction and Navigation Narrative,
the situation concerning the 497th Bomb Group is highlighted in red.

In the maps and charts in Page 3 are
coordinates and locations that may help in
clarifying some of the information
within these documents.

In particular, the narrative descriptions in
the fifth and six below documents.
