Missing Air Crew Report 14337
The focus of this page are the Missing Air Crew Report ( MACR ) Their B-29 was shot down 29 April 1945 on a mission to Miyakonojo Airfield, Kyushu. The aircraft was attacked by fighters and the number 3 and 4 engines were damaged. All crew members were seen to bail out of the aircraft 20-30 miles off the coast of Kyushu. Six were rescued by the Gato SS-212, four were never seen again, and Sgt Brown drifted, perhaps in a raft, until he reached Oshima Island.
