Within this page are three Battle Casualty Reports ( BCR ) dated:
2 February 1945
11 May 1945
23 March 1946
One Finding of Death
One Report of Death
The first BCR was issued a few days after
Lt Redinger was reported Missing In Action .
The third BCR was issued about a month after the remains of
the 62 POWs who died at the Prison were recovered ( 10-16 February
1946 )
There is a misleading statement in this BCR concerning the word "
Identification ".
Within the complete Case History 111 are many pages
concerning the steps taken to determine which airmen
could have been at the Tokyo Military Prison the night of 25-26 May
1945.
The word " Identification " in this BCR refers to
information obtained during these investigations.
These initially were from Japanese Informants ( JI ) or Dog Tags (
DT ).
As of this date, 31 January 2025, Lt Redinger's remains have not been
identified
