Following Sgt Paul Sisson's acceptance as an Aviation Cadet ( Av/C ),
his first assignment was at
the San Antonio Aviation Cadet Center.
Pre-Flight School was at Kelly Field, San Antonio.

This was followed by his first flight school at
Victory Field, Vernon, Texas.

Below is a brief history of this air field.

2nd Lt Paul Sisson was assigned to
the 499th Bomb Group in early 1944.

He would remain in this unit until 26 June 1945.

The second document is from the
499th Bomb Group Narrative History and
summarizes its formation and activation.

This is followed by an undated organizational chart
of XX Bomber Command created in early 1944.

Prior to the middle of April 1944 there were
four squadrons in each Bomb Group.

This was reduced to three during the last half of April 1944.
