The below pages are the initial steps taken to
formally identify Sgt Walk's remains.

Recommendations to identify several of the remains at the
Central Identification Point
were sent to the 8th Army Headquarters on 17 January 1949.

On 20 Jan 1949 the Board of Review
recommended that Unknown X-305
be identified as Sgt Walter Walk.

This is followed by two pages of
Sgt Walk's Identification Checklist dated 14 April 1949 .

Formal approval of Sgt Walk's identification
by the Department of the Army took place on 22 April 1949.
