its efforts to determine the number of survivors
who could have been in the Osaka area.

This is a preliminary estimate ( probable survivors )
as not all remains had been recovered as of 1 April 1946.

A total of 55 POWs died at Osaka and were buried in three locations:

Jonan Rifle Range
Sanadayma Military Cemetery
Shinodayama Militar Maneuver Area.

The asterisk next to each name indicates that
the crew member was known to have survived.

The Newell Crew is highlighted in Page 3 and their status is at the top of Page 4.
