The below correspondence is between Mr John N Wall, Sr, and the
Memorial Division of the Quartermaster Corp.

Sgt Wall's remains were formally identified on
7 October 1948.

The first letter is from Mr. Wall to the
Adjutant General of the United States Army.

Mr Wall requested information concerning why
he was not notified of his son's identification.

The second letter to Major James Smith of
the Memorial Division clarifies this situation.

On 29 January 1949 the intial steps to return
Sgt Wall's return home were taken.

Mr Wall was required to fill in the form
Request for Disposition of Remains and state his
preferences regarding his son's return home.

This form was signed 7 February 1949.
