This two part series focuses on the Samuelson crew at
both Nishihara Village and Ongata Village.

with the status of each crew member:
Sgt Weiser ( Killed by Locals ) and
Sgt Janecek ( died in a Military Hospital )
are highlighted in pale green.
Sgt Evans survived captivity and is highlighted in pale yellow.

Japanese document from the Roger Mansell Collection.
This concerns the Japanese fighter pilot, Lt Osamu Hirose,
and the Samuelson Crew.
This expands information found in the Mansell table.
Each crew member who died as a direct result of the crash is labled
with an X
Next to Sgt Janecek's name is an X
with an additional ? Murdered
Sgt Weiser is designated as POW-X
This would indicate that he was alive at the
time of his capture in Ongata but died.
Implied in here is that his death took place by
stoning or beating by residents in Ongata Village.
Sgt Evan's status is POW

First is Page 15 in Japanese followed by a Google translation.
Next are Pages 14 and 15 in English downloaded from the
POW Research Network Japan web site.
The wording is similar with one slight variation.
The Google translation uses the words
" parachuted but died "
while the English version uses
" bailed out and killed "
