In the 24 pages of Sgt Weiser's Individual Deceased Personnel File ( IDPF )
there is no Report of Recovery.

There are hints are in three documents.

The first is the
Report of Interment / Reinterment
dated 20 October 1945 with
the location and coordinates where Sgt Weiser was buried.

This was at Ongata Village, located in the vicinity of Hachioji.
( see map below commentary )

Next is a letter from
Headquarters 8th Army
Office of the Quartermaster
dated 24 April 1946.

This letter confirms Sgt Weiser's Identification and
the location of his Place of Death.

However, there is nothing with specific coordinates.

In the lower left corner is a list of
four documents. The only one in Sgt Weiser's IDPF is the
Report of Interment ( ROI ) Unknown X-9.

The sketch is in
Case History 045

Most of this Case History focuses on the crew members
who died in the area of Nishihara Village.

Third is Exhibit B from Case History 045,
the Report of Recovery of Team 2 .

A unit of the
3061st Quarter Master Graves Registration Company,
Team T2J4,
recovered the remains of eight of the
Samuelson crew in the area of Nishihara Village.

Recovery began in early December 1945 and
concluded on 14 December 1945.

The crew members recovered at Nishihara Village
were designated Unknowns X-93 through X-99.

Towards the bottom are a few sentences concerning Sgt Weiser :

" His remains were recovered by American soldiers on 30 October 1945.
For more information see T2J5 "

There is no report from this Team.

_______________

Another name for Ongata Village is
Shimo Ongata.

This is in upper left corner of the below map of the Hachioji area.

This location matches the coordinates in his
Report of Interment ( Reinterment )
629.5 - 1419.5

Google maps in Page 2
show the location of the Jofukuji Temple.
