Lt Giddings' parents were
Marshall B Giddings ( 1884 - 1953 ) and Dorothy Quincy Lane ( 1888 - 1964 ).
They had 10 children , eight sons and two daughters.

All the children were involved directly or indirectly with the military in WWII.

Lt Giddings was born 31 October 1923, 8th of the 10 children.
He graduated from Searles High School (year unknown )

His enlistment record is not in the NARA online database but
based upon one of the newspaper articles, this most likely was around March 1943.

Dental Records indicate that his first station was at the Santa Ana Army Air Base, California.
His status was Enlisted Man with rank of Aviation Cadet.
