Lt Giddings enlisted around March 1943 and his first assignment was at the
Santa Ana Army Air Base, California.

There is no information as to when he arrived
but dental records place him there in July 1943.

Below are four of the 21 pages from the Aviation Cadet Regulations book.

The first paragraph in Page 5 states that the purpose of
the school is for air crew training.

Men were classified as Pilot, Bombardier, or Navigator.
