The Central Identification Point at Yokohama was most likely
staffed by personnel from the Cemetery at Fort McKinley, Manila.
Their level of experience in identifying remains
must have been higher than at Yokohama.
This differed from Identification in the Field
where laundry marks and dog tags
were the sole criteria to identify a man.
The first document is dated 17 December 1948
