Sgt Wall was initially identified in the field,
a common practise in the early months of
recovery and identification.
Noted in the first page is that his remains
were reprocessed on 18 December 1947.

In late 1947 the American Graves Registration Service ( AGRS )
began consolidating remains from both Yokohama and Okinawa
for processing to what is now Manila American Military Cemetery.
Disinterments were to take place between
10 November and 15 December 1947.
Remains were stored above ground.
at Yokohama Mausoleum #2.
At a later date they were to be transfered to the Mausoleum at Manila.
By the time of Sgt Wall's return home, this does not appear to have
taken place.
Based on information from the online book
The American Grave Registration Service in World War II,
identification teams were sent from Manila to Yokohama.
It is possible that these teams had greater expertise in identifying
remains.
Some time in 1950, the unknown remains at Yokohama were transported
to Manila.
