Around the same time that the letters and forms were sent to Mrs
Forystek,
Cpl Forystek's remains were disintered from
United States Armed Forces ( USAF ) Cemetery Yokohama #1.
The next step was transportation to the
American Graves Registration Service ( AGRS ) port facilty at Yokohama.
The Record of Custodial Transfer has details concerning his remains
being transferred from Yokohama to Distribution Center #08 in Chicago.
The USAT Lt Raymond Beaudoin departed Yokohama on 28 January 1949
and arrived at Fort Mason, San Francisco, 18 February 1949.
His remains were then transported by rail to Distribution Center 08,
Chicago, Illinois.
Arrival was 4 March 1949.
