1st Lt Paul Sisson's journey home began in November 1948.

That month, the Memorial Division of the QMC
contacted his father, Mr Edgar Sisson.

His journey concluded with his burial in the
Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery on 12 July 1949.

In May 1949 his remains were transported from
Yokohama, Japan, to Fort Mason, San Francisco.

This took place on board the
U.S. Army Transport Lt George W Boyce.

A photo of the ship is followed by a photo of his Grave Marker and
two photos of Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery.

**********
There were problems getting the correct wording
on Lt Sisson's grave marker.
Some of this is visible in the below photo.

The first error that was corrected was changing his
date of death from 15 August 1949 to 15 August 1945.

Another correction involved changing his unit number
from the 887th to 877th Bomb Squadron.

The photo of his grave marker has unusual markings
on both sides of his unit number(s) .

I cannot tell if this was altered during the change of his
Bomb Squadron.

Another factor is that I do not know how many changes
on his grave marker the
OQMG would allow.

Some of these discrepancies are documented in Page 6.
