On 13 December 1948 Lt Sisson's remains were disintered from
USAF Cemetery Yokohama #1 and transported to the
American Graves Registration Service ( AGRS ) port facility at Yokohama.

They were there until late May 1949
when they were placed on board
USAT Lt George W Boyce.

The transport departed Yokohama on 21 May 1949 and
arrived at Fort Mason, San Francisco, 6 June 1949.

Details of this process are in the below documents .

The first one is the Disinterment Directive.

This is dated 15 April 1949 but as noted above,
disinterment took place on 13 December 1948.

At the top right of the page are two codes
highlighted in a blue rectangle.

The second document is the Record of Custodial Transfer.

This is a time line from when Lt Sisson's remains were
transferred to USAT Boyce until arrival at Fort Mason.

There is a gap in information as to how his remains were transported
across San Francisco Bay to the Oakland Army Depot.

From there his remains were transported by
rail to the Chicago Quartermaster Depot, arriving 13 June 1949.
