Sgt Walk's remains were placed in USAF Mausoleum #2 Yokohama on
18 January 1949
The Directive Number 5325 refers to USAF Cemetery #1, Yokohama.
Below and to the right is a rectangle with the title
Distribution of Remains.
The code 7200 is for the State of Iowa and
Distribution Center 13 is the Oakland Army Base, Oakland, California.
This is followed by the
Record of Custodial Transfer.
In there are dates and locations where Sgt Walk's remains were transferred.
The first entry is from USAF Cemetery Yokohama to
the American Graves Registration Service (AGRS) Port Facility at Yokohama.
On 3 October 1949 Sgt Walk's remains were placed on board
U S Army Transport ( USAT ) General E D Patrick.
The ship departed Yokohama on 3 October and
arrived at Distribution Center #13 in Oakland California
on 15 October 1949.
Sgt Walk's remains were transported by rail to Iowa.
