On 13 October 1949 a Joint Message Form was sent to Mr Walk from
the American Graves Registration Division at Oakland, California.
He was notified that his son's remains were
enroute to the United States.
He was asked to confirm his original instructions.
Mr Walk replied with a telegram dated 16 October 1949
stating that these instructions were correct.
He also requested that his son's remains be sent to Manly, Iowa.
The Receipt of Remains is dated 14 November 1949.
This was sent to the
Shrouder and Houg Funeral Home in St Ansgar, Iowa.
The train carrying Sgt Walk's remains was scheduled to
arrive at Lyle, Minnesota, on 21 November 1949.
This document was signed by M.A. Houg on 21 November1949.
